Privacy Policy

At Rare Food Shop, we respect your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

1. What we collect

When you place an order, we collect what we need to process and deliver it:

  • Your name
  • Delivery address
  • Email address and mobile number
  • Order details

When you browse our site, we automatically get basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type. This helps us keep the site working well and see how people use it.

When you sign up for updates, we use your email to send news, promos and new product announcements. We only do this with your permission.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Process, deliver and follow up on your orders
  • Answer your questions and handle returns or concerns
  • Send updates and promos, but only if you opted in
  • Improve our website and shopping experience

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Your consent

When you place an order, you agree to let us use your information to complete that order.

For anything else, like marketing emails, we'll always ask first or give you a clear way to say no.

Changed your mind? You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of our emails, or by emailing us at shop@rarefoodshop.com.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with partners who help us run the store, and only what they need to do their job:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and stores your data on secure servers
  • Payment providers, which process your payment securely. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Delivery partners, who need your name, address and contact number to bring your order to you

Each of these partners has its own privacy policy. You can read Shopify's here: shopify.com/legal/privacy.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

5. How we keep it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorized access. All payments go through secure, encrypted checkout, and our payment partners follow the global card security standard (PCI-DSS).

No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files that help our site remember things, like what's in your cart or that you're logged in. We also use them to see how people use our site so we can improve it.

You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site (like your cart) may not work properly.

7. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, not ours.

8. Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to shop with us, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

9. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you
  • Ask us to correct or update it
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Object to how we use it
  • File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission

To make a request, just email us (see below).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date at the top.

If our business is ever sold or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner so we can keep serving you.

11. Contact us

Questions, requests or concerns about your privacy?
Email: shop@rarefoodshop.com

Before you publish, please check three things:

  • Contact email: Your current policy uses shop@rarefoodshop.com in one place and sales@rareglobalfood.com in another. I used the shop email in both. If you have a named Data Protection Officer (the Data Privacy Act expects one), add their name here.
  • Payment and delivery partners: If you can name them (for example PayMongo, GCash or Lalamove), listing them in Section 4 builds trust.
  • Legal review: I'm not a lawyer, so have your counsel or compliance contact look this over before it goes live.
